About Me

I believe that life presents each of us with challenges. We all bear scars and we all have a story. My role is to give you back the power and skills to integrate your scars into a beautiful story of the person you want to be. Many of my clients have struggled with depression, violent behaviors, suicidal thoughts and drug addictions. They have gifted me with the opportunity to see their pain, see the scars, and have taught me how their behavior helped them survive the pain. They have brought me on the journey of their healing and together we have found ways to minimize their pain and rebuild the life they want to live.

My therapy approach involves a psychodynamic and attachment perspective, with strong emphasis on use of DBT skills. I am certified in Trauma-Focused CBT from the Medical University of South Carolina and have worked extensively with clients with personality disorders and sexual abuse survivors. I have a doctorate in psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University. In addition, I have taught various courses on psychiatric disorders at Rutgers University and Brooklyn College and have provided therapy in psychiatric hospitals, clinics, and outpatients centers in NY and Jerusalem.
